friday five

1. what was the first Internet site you remember joining?

i’m sure there were more before this, but i remember all the search engines. yahoo, alta vista, magellan, excite…omg do you remember ask jeeves? i remember the day he was gone…sigh. then there was icq and xanga…

2. what was the last Internet site you joined?

i tried to join lumosity but the i found out you had to pay. it’s this cool site that helps you exercise your brain!

3. are you mac, window or something else?

i feel like i’m probably more of a google. i’m so pro at google docs—i use lots of the apps. i also have a google tablet and big fans of chromecast.

4. what is the one thing you wish you could easily do with your computer?

well, i can’t talk to it. but the idea of that kind of creeps me out, so that’s not really an answer…

5. are you happier with the all the advances that have been made in the last ten years or do you wish for an earlier, less technology-based time?

we actually talk about this a lot in our household. sometimes it’s SO hard to tear yourself away from being connected, but sometimes it’s incredibly easy. i think i land on the side of happier with the advancements, though. it makes the world smaller, but i don’t think that’s always a bad thing. we must to practice responsibility with information.

fill in the blank friday

(thanks tara!)

1. if i could get away somewhere for the weekend i would go to MARFA! i have never been and i mean my fam owns land there and it’s just rad looking from all the pictures.  and i would bring lots of snacks bc i heard the restaurants and lack of grocery shopping can be tricky.

2. something i often rant about is gosh, i don’t know? maybe you should ask my hubs this question. he’s pretty cool.

3. one item i need to have in my fridge at all time is–i don’t know if these are “NEEDS”, but i always have kale, cream cheese, and milk. always. #random

4. my “life-saving” product is olive oil. i use it for everything. cooking, my nails, hair conditioner…

5. a friend is someone whose wounds you can trust. an enemy will only multiply kisses.

6.  if i could write my own blank it would be, “if i had a million dollars the first thing i’d do is ____” ha! i just want to see what everyone would put.

7. my favorite kind of art is kid art, hands down! my fridge is full of things my little buddies have colored and drawn for me. it’s so expressive and wonderfully outside the lines.

fill in the blank friday

i totally stole this from running tara…and you should, too. it’s kind of fun! i’m a sucker for lists and quizzes. :) (ps you running people, esp beginner runners, should follow this gal! she’s got guts!)

1. my favorite daily responsibility is probably washing dishes. i know…totally boring, but there’s something rhythmic and wonderful about warm soapy water.

2. my least favorite daily responsibility waking up. does that count? i’m a really bad waker-upper. sometimes it takes me until 11am to really get going, ha! people tell me i should try coffee…

3. my favorite cuisine to eat when going out is lately? pizza. i have to be careful bc a lot of cheese makes me sick, boooo…but our favorite place right now is jax cafe. AND they have independence beers on tap (a local flavorite).

4. my favorite cuisine to prepare at home is …southern? american? i make  a lot of  creamy chicken casserole and cobbler. :)

5. andy warhol says that everyone is famous for 15 minutes. my claim to fame is bringing back the word, “rad.” so rad.

happy friday, friends!
