I think our family collectively loves the China Pavilion in Epcot the most. We have our individual favorites, but this is one we all enjoy visiting, and make an effort to see each trip.

The main dining room, Nine Dragons, is always very easy to get into (with or without a reservation) and is consistently good. Clare can eat her weight in lo mien and red bean ice cream here, so that would be her recommendation on how to spend some free time. The counter service location, Lotus Blossom Cafe, is also a good choice if you are on the go. It can feel a little cramped in there, but the service is fast and delicious!

There’s also a small kiosk outside the Pavilion, Joy of Tea, that sells snacks (LOVE the rolls), and beverages, like specialty cocktails, beer and wine native to China. Also– water, soda and the other general goods you’ll find everywhere in the park. Here’s a picture of Daniel enjoying some plum wine, here!

There are several shops inside the pavilion and also outside, next to Joy of Tea, where you can get anything from umbrellas, to chopsticks, to gorgeous authentic clothing. They have some seriously great stuff…and last time I was there, and entire section dedicated to cute, cuddly PANDA BEARS!!

This cool building, above, is where the movie “Reflections of China” is housed. It’s a good break for your feet and from the heat, but we much prefer to spend our time eating and shopping. China also has the most awesome acrobatic performances throughout the day.

This pavilion has such a peaceful feel to it, and I hope you’ll make this a part of your next Epcot adventure!

2017 Mom & Me Trip – Epcot

So this day was CRAZY. We were supposed to go to Magic Kingdom but as soon as we arrived, we saw that the lines to get in were literally INSANE. So we opened up our My Disney Experience App, made a few changes, and even scored a princess lunch to Akershus and promptly headed to Epcot…BEST DAY EVER!

We started off the day with a quick stop to Yorkshire Fish Shoppe in the UK, but before we got in line to place our order, WE SAW CINDERELLA!!! Y’all. She is NEVER out and about in Epcot! It was the most magical experience ever, and I could not believe we got to meet her here. Technically, we get to see her at Akershus or Magic Kingdom, but this was so incredibly special. Because we were last in line we got extra time with her too, and of course the girls talked to her about shoes. LOL!

We crammed a lot into this day. The crowds were low and the weather was perfect. Other than Cinderella, we met Anna, Elsa, Alice, Belle, Sleeping Beauty, Ariel, Joy, Sadness and Baymax and did a lot of rides! Seriously one of my favorite park days ever, hands down.

Cousins and Forts

A few weekends ago, two of Clare’s cousins came to visit. Clare LOVES her cousins and talks about them all constantly, so any time we get to have any of them over–is a bonus.

We watched Moana, Cars, and of course had Rosa’s for dinner! Complete with chocolate cake.

They all slept in the blanket for all night long, but I swear they did not know how to use it correctly at first, ha ha ha!

Visit to Waco

We have been traveling a LOOOT in the past few weeks. Mostly, Daniel has had to be on the road to South Texas a considerable amount of time this year, but THIS was a  nice change in pace. I got to visit my best friend and her kiddos in Waco!! It’s a great halfway point for us, and there’s so much to do!

We met up at the Zoo, which was really really fun. The layout was a bit confusing  (or maybe it’s just me??) but overall it was an awesome experience and we will be back. Clare gets in free until she turns 4, soooo bonus!

After the zoo, we of COURSE had to check out Magnolia! I feel like I’m the last person on the planet to visit the grounds there, but it was REALLY cool! We didn’t go in the store to shop, but enjoyed the ‘backyard’, if you will, of running around, hitting up the food trucks, and relaxing. There were swings, bean bag chairs and great music playing.

Here are some highlights!

Goofballs. Clare on the left, Gabby on the right. This picture says SO MANY WORDS to me! I really hope they grow up to be best buds like me and her Mom. So much love.

No trip back to the hill country is complete without a stop at Bucees…aka Clare’s favorite. I joke (kind of) that I’m going to have her birthday party there next year because she loves it SO much.
