Cousins and Forts

A few weekends ago, two of Clare’s cousins came to visit. Clare LOVES her cousins and talks about them all constantly, so any time we get to have any of them over–is a bonus.

We watched Moana, Cars, and of course had Rosa’s for dinner! Complete with chocolate cake.

They all slept in the blanket for all night long, but I swear they did not know how to use it correctly at first, ha ha ha!

Visit to Waco

We have been traveling a LOOOT in the past few weeks. Mostly, Daniel has had to be on the road to South Texas a considerable amount of time this year, but THIS was a  nice change in pace. I got to visit my best friend and her kiddos in Waco!! It’s a great halfway point for us, and there’s so much to do!

We met up at the Zoo, which was really really fun. The layout was a bit confusing  (or maybe it’s just me??) but overall it was an awesome experience and we will be back. Clare gets in free until she turns 4, soooo bonus!

After the zoo, we of COURSE had to check out Magnolia! I feel like I’m the last person on the planet to visit the grounds there, but it was REALLY cool! We didn’t go in the store to shop, but enjoyed the ‘backyard’, if you will, of running around, hitting up the food trucks, and relaxing. There were swings, bean bag chairs and great music playing.

Here are some highlights!

Goofballs. Clare on the left, Gabby on the right. This picture says SO MANY WORDS to me! I really hope they grow up to be best buds like me and her Mom. So much love.

And of course, the famous Magnolia!!

No trip back to the hill country is complete without a stop at Bucees…aka Clare’s favorite. I joke (kind of) that I’m going to have her birthday party there next year because she loves it SO much.

Disney Lately

This January we did our 2nd Annual Mom and Me Trip! But it was kind of my third one over all. I’m really proud of all the things I’m accomplishing with my Travel Planning business. I started the training for it on my maternity leave, and when I had to leave my “big girl” job last April, things REALLY took off! It’s pretty amazing getting to help people plan their vacations to Disney!

Here are some pics from this year’s trip. I did a split stay at the Art of Animation Resort, and Animal Kingdom Lodge. WOW!! AKL was incredible! My favorite thing, was borrowing night vision goggles at night, to see the animals on the Savannah. We only saw a few but it was really really special.

I’ll have to post over several posts to fit it all in. :)

Pro traveler, here…she really only gets to use her kindle on trips like this so she was VERY excited and settled right into her very own airplane seat with her Buccee pillow!

We stayed at the Art of Animation Resort, in the Little Mermaid Rooms. We were in the Ursula section!

Our first morning, we did breakfast at ‘Ohana, which is one of my all time favorites! This features Lilo and Stitch–some of Clare’s favs!

And we can not forget the amazing pineapples they serve…

Clare Turns 2!

Oh my word how time has just FLOW BY!! What they say is so true: the days are long but the years are short.

We are less into huge parties and more into fun events around here, when it comes to celebrating birthdays. With that in mind, we had a small get together the weekend before Clare’s birthday, with family! We picked up Troll themed cupcakes and her fav veggie snacks and had fun partying and dancing!

For her actual birthday, several moms from my Mom Mob and I bravely took our children to the ever popular Great Wolf Lodge!! I confess. We suited up to go to the water park ONCE the entire weekend. HA!! It was really fun, and I know she would have loved to go more than once, but we really ended up spending a TON of time in the arcade and also just playing in the room with stickers and legos. The kids had a blast and so did the moms. It was a huge success!

St. Nicholas Day

We celebrate St. Nicholas Day in our house, and this is when we do Christmas Stockings, to more-so keep with the tradition. I love this tradition. Every year, Daniel tells the story of St. Nicholas and we talk about his generosity. In the past, we’ve done projects with Angel Tree and Any Baby Can, but this year, while Clare is little, it looks more like baking cookies for friends and workers in our area, like our local garbage guys and our postlady. She can understand that and I love teaching her giving.

Daniel’s mother usually joins us for this holiday, and we celebrate with stockings and a yummy meal!
